I'm a Rotaractor from the Philippines. RACLB starts its journey almost 3 years ago and with the help of Rotary Club of Los Baños, our club functions the way it should be. And with the help of combined youth desires, we almost made it to be a role model in our community.

Volunteers still exists!

When I started as an Interactor, I have a vision of helping my community in just a small way like segregating trash and cleaning up schools. Since we're still in high school and had studying as a priority, we moved whenever it's necessary and whenever the community asked for help. But when I became a Rotaractor, I understand why the community needs an organization like this. It's because our community really needs help. And help is us.

Our Rotaract Club is compose of mostly college students but have some of the chartering members as professionals. Mostly, they were just new graduates and still hungry for the real life. And to count off, we are just a group of individuals as the professionals focus to their fields. We almost gave up the club as we struggle in building its foundation. For instance, as a college student, we aim to focus with social and academics and with the complications of schedules, the club can't manage to fund itself.

But then, as the RY 2012-2013 ends, a group of students found Rotaract not just a club but a new hope for life. They are from the Interact Club of LBNHS, most were graduates and new freshman in college. It's a first in our recruitment to see individuals that are eager to join a club. They promised to become committed to Rotaract and fulfill the responsibility of an Rotaractor. Even though they saw how vulnerable our club before them, they still embraced the possibility of volunteerism and life in it.

With all the distraction and priorities in oneself, there still exist young volunteers who are willing to dedicate and give hope to their community despite all the barriers that surrounds them. With that, we'll continue to produce more productive young leaders for a better world.

Loyalty Award

On the night of our Induction, it was really a surprise, more likely a shock to me when Sir Bobby gave me a loyalty award for promoting Rotaract in a way of my life and being a model of change, from being an Interactor to a Dedicated Rotaractor. It was, therefore, really a shock with happiness because I didn't really intent to aim for an award like this (even didn't think it exist). He challenged me of becoming a Rotaract President which is beyond my way of thinking. I query accepted it but still promise to kept in mind those words. Let me just go on the way I used on my club. Being with this organization is like being with a friend and a family.

Induction 2012

Recently, we held our Third Induction, I think at Sir Bobby Bautista's house. It was really an urgent event with short notice but still came with a terrific and fun result. We're lucky to have our peacefully recruit new members. We're happy to have them officially in our family. We just hope that they'll keep their promises they pledged during the induction. Either way, I'm happy to welcome them and most of all, I'll be on my most happiness if the other members will further give a way to the club :)
